Comment: Nothing new as far as musical content goes. The sound rework is generally very well done. Some of the tracks have a bit too much volume enhancement for my taste though (and amplified hiss to go with it). Lots of additional track information added here that wasn't listed on the original CD packaging.

Comment: These are cleaned-up and improved recordings from songs originally issued on vinyl LP some years ago. The cover insert reproduces the original LP release artwork. Much of this previously released on the CD "Undercover Outtakes" on the Rogue label (RG-02). I've always found these isolated percussion tracks of Undercover Of The Night to be quite interesting to listen to.

Comment: "Better Results" was the title of a third in a series of rare "Some Girls" studio recordings made from the master reels and released by the Outsider Bird record label in the 90's. The sound quality and tape speed was noticeably "better" on this compilation which was a limited numbered edition of 300 copies. Also released as "Place Pigalle Vol. 3" Save The Earth (STE 037), "Some Girls Sessions" Stonehenge (V3491), & "Some More Fast Numbers" with a different song order and 2 bonus tracks on Morganfield (MG002).

Comment: First "pressed" CD release of the the rare (120 copies) Outsider Bird LP with the same title. Not my favorite selection of "Some Girls" outtakes. Mostly boring instrumental experiments that were never fully developed. Also released as a bonus CD-R on "Paris Results 2007 Remastered" (SODD-032-CD/SODD-033-S-CD & bonus CD-R).

Comment: As you can see, some of the tracks are repeating themselves amongst this series of DAC releases. It is also important to note the version numbers as some of the duplicate titles are actually different takes of the same song. Also note that the Jimmy Reed song Shame Shame Shame was performed live by Stones at The Double Door gig on September 18, 1997 (The "Bridges To Babylon" Tour). CD 1 also released as "Paris Results" on Outsider Bird (OBR 305-CD-016), "Place Pigalle" Save The Earth (STE 015), & "Some Girl Memories" Rogue (RG 003). CD 2 also released as "Paris Results Vol. 2" on Outsider Bird (OBR 305-CD-019) & "Place Pigalle Vol. 2" Save The Earth (STE 024). Also released as a combined double CD set on "Paris Results 2007 Remastered" (SODD-032-CD/SODD-033-S-CD & bonus CD-R) see review from this site at:

Comment: Very sparse information about the tracks on the liner. Why release a compilation like this without explaining it? Here you have the detail on each track and you can get an idea of what they were trying to accomplish with this convoluted (Live?, Outtakes?, Short Edits?) release even though the sound quality is less than anything else you can possibly find.

Comment: The classic vinyl release on CD with added tracks. From a hisorical perspective Dancing Girls was originally titled as Linda Lu on the LP jacket, and even though such a song title did exist within Stones session work this was not the song. It wouldn't be heard until years later with the release of "Paris Results" on OBR. Also, Munich Reggae was listed as Los Trios Guitarros on the LP jacket. This actual track title did not surface until the LP release of "Sheep-Dip-Blues" again on OBR and on CD with the release of "Place Pigalle 5/6". The "Lonely At The Top" title and LP content (many with bonus tracks as well) previously released on CD on Vinyl Gang Product (VGP-057), The Swingin' Pig (TSP-CD-199), Dandelion (Dl 040), and Home Entertainment Network (HEN 033) as a digipak.

Comment: CD release of the classic 2 LP set "Munichland Melodies". Note that these LP's were the first to release some of the earliest takes of what would become the "Black And Blue" album. I have added the song version numbers for you here, which is consistent with the source used & listed on other DAC releases. Note that these version numbers also document the evolution or vintage of the song from I earliest known to III... or latest based on known unauthorized releases of various song titles. Many of the same tracks also found on the CD's "Play It Rough" Exile (Exile-40A/B), "Outtakes 1974-75" Extremely Rare (ExR 002), "Black & Blue Sessions" Idol Mind Productions (IMP-CD005), & made from the vinyl "Reggae 'n' Roll" (TVR-001A).
